The Gold Flute Valve is designed for practical shooting competition pistols such as Hi-Capa/1911, therefore, it is not necessary to install an O-Ring for the system.
The Red Flute Valve is designed for XDM38/45, M&P Style Pistols, the O-Ring may apply to specify models when necessary.

Performance Difference:
The FPS of the Gold Flute Valve is 10% faster than the Red Flute Valve.
The Red Flute Valve has a better Cold Weather Performance than the Gold version.
